Senate

The university Senate is the main decision forum at university level, 75% of its members being part of the teaching and research staff and 25% students. The Senate numbers 35 senators - 26 members of the teaching staff and 9 students.

1.The Educational commission

  • supervises the organization and the proper development of the academic educational process of the learning cycles, bachelor and master,during all the stages from admission to final examinations.
  • supervises the organization of the postgraduate education and lifelong learning from enrolling to certification.
  • analyzes and approves the reports, the methodology projects and the regulations.
  • approves the regulations and the admission procedures of the candidates;
  • analyzes and approves the regulations regarding the students' professional activity, the recognition and equivalence procedures of studies or of the study periods that took place in Romania and abroad, the minimum number of credits required for the graduation and functioning of the academic cycles and master;
  • analyzes and approves the structure of the academic year, the tests and the final examinations schedules of the studies;
  • analyzes and approves the fees applied to the students, the extension of the educational period, as stipulated by the legislation, admissions, enrolments, re-enrolments, re-taking of the examinations and of other types of assessment that exceed the stipulations of the curriculum, fees for activities not included in the curriculum, etc.;
  • analyzes and approves the content of certificates and diplomas, according to the legislation in force;
  • analyzes and approves the regulations and the procedures regarding the continuous professional development.
  • supervises and approves the activity course of the doctoral and postgraduate schools.

2.The Research Commission

  • approves the research, the development and the innovation strategy of the USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
  • supervises the development of the scientific research, technological development, scientific counselling, expertise and other scientific activities (symposiums, conferences, etc.) within the USAMVCN.
  • supervises the implementation manner of the projects funded by the national and international organisms, as well as of other projects with economic partners in the field of education, scientific research, technological development, innovation, professional training or pertaining to the academic and research infrastructure.
  • monitors the research-design-microproduction activity developed within the university, in the institutes and research centers of the university or within specific units the university is member of, associate or shareholder.
  • supports the conclusion and the development of partnerships, collaborations and projects in the field of research between the USAMVCN and other universities, institutions and international organisms.
  • informs the academic community of the university about the main international scientific events in the field of research, development and innovation.

3.The Administrative and Heritage Commission

Approves the policies of the Administrative Council of the university in regard to the heritage and the management of the material resources of the university.

Monitors and analyzes the heritage and the administrative status regarding the material resources, in the present development context and approves the propositions regarding the plans of action in the following directions:

  • the role and the elements pertaining to the heritage of the university;
  • the right to administer the heritage of the university;
  • the exercise of the right to manage and decide in what concerns the lands, buildings and other assets;
  • the increase of the heritage of the university;
  • drepturi reale accesorii a activelor din patrimoniul universităţii;
  • the amortization of the assets pertaining to the heritage of the university;
  • authority regarding the disposed assets of the heritage of the university;
  • the transfer of the fixed assets, of the inventory items and of the current assets;
  • insurance of the assets in the heritage of the university;
  • the management and use of the state budget allocated funds;
  • inventorying, evaluation and re-evaluation of the heritage of the university;
  • manners of optimal use and development of the material resources of the university.

4.The Student and Social Commission

  • monitors the manner of settlement, by the Administration Council, of the social issues occurred within the USAMVCN.
  • identifies the social and economic phenomena having an impact on the social life of the university and those which require the elaboration of specific strategies.
  • mediates the conflicts that occurred in the social field and elaborates propositions for their settlement.
  • approves the social policies of the university.
  • supervises the relations within the workplace and those pertaining to the salary policy as well as the consolidation of the social order.
  • approves various solutions regarding the improvement of the academic management submitted by the Administration Council, by the effective use of the material and human resources.
  • analyzes the results of the implementation of the social objective based on social and economic indicators and submits various performance measures to the Administration Council.
  • approves the amendment regulations regarding the hostel, the scholarship and holiday camp ticket awarding, the Student and Social Council and other Regulations with impact on the USAMVCN students' social and cultural life.
  • supervises the housing process, the scholarship amount, the process of camp ticket distribution, etc.
  • monitors the activity of the USAMV Social Service.
  • monitors students' social and cultural activities
  • monitors the activities of the Agronomia club and restaurant.

5.The Commission for International Relations and Business Environment

  • approves the development strategies regarding the international partnerships;
  • approves the mobility programs for students and for the academic staff as stipulated in the community programs.
  • approves the strategic partnerships regarding the educational, scientific, cultural, economic and administrative projects with other Romanian and foreign universities;
  • approves the strategies for the increase of the visibility and the course of action the university follows regarding its involvement in the local, regional, national and international social and economic development, elaborated by the Administration Council;
  • approves the strategies concerning the sustainable development of the cultural and material heritage of the university;
  • approves the opportunities regarding the accessing of the strategical projects for the development of the university, submitted by the Administration Council;
  • approves the strategic partnership projects with economic agents in the private and public sector, with the purpose to gain extra budget income.

6.The Ethics Commission

  • analyzes and settles the tresspassings of the academic ethics, based on notifications or on its own initiative, according to the Code of Academic Ethics;
  • conducts investigations and interviews with the purpose of producing enough relevant data regarding the cases that are the object of notifications and complaints;
  • takes decisions based on the conducted investigations, hearings and on the produced evidence and accompanied by a detailed motivation regarding the reached decision, and upon the majority of the commission members' votes;
  • communicates the report and recommends a course of action or the necessary sanctions to the Administration Council;
  • makes an annual report regarding the observance of the academic ethics; the report is to be submitted to the Rector and to the university Senate for the elaboration of the report regarding the situation of the university;
  • immediately notifies the state organs about the cases which are the object of prosecution and makes available to them all the information they hold regarding these cases.
