{"id":2544,"date":"2026-01-20T08:07:26","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T08:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/?p=2544"},"modified":"2026-01-20T08:07:29","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T08:07:29","slug":"world-soil-day-5-december-marked-at-usamv-cluj-napoca-by-the-faculty-of-agriculture-and-the-faculty-of-horticulture-and-business-in-rural-development-through-educational-and-interdisciplina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/2026\/01\/20\/world-soil-day-5-december-marked-at-usamv-cluj-napoca-by-the-faculty-of-agriculture-and-the-faculty-of-horticulture-and-business-in-rural-development-through-educational-and-interdisciplina\/","title":{"rendered":"World Soil Day \u2013 5 December, marked at USAMV Cluj-Napoca by the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Horticulture and Business in Rural Development through educational and interdisciplinary events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World Soil Day is celebrated annually on 5 December, and this year two of our faculties are organising important events dedicated to students, with the participation of teaching staff and special guests.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The slogan for the 2025 edition is &#8220;Healthy soils, healthy cities,&#8221; and as such, the Faculty of Agriculture is organising a unique ideas competition for students, celebrating the essential role of soil in city life.<\/p>\n<p>The competition has already been launched, and students are invited to register by 3 December with a video, presentation\/e-poster or any other educational promotional material, whether it be about urban gardens, nutrient recycling or innovative methods of soil protection.<\/p>\n<p>Participation is open to both individuals and teams, and the prizes offered are worth a total of 2,300 lei for the top three projects. Recommended topics: urban agriculture, soil sealing, restoration and care of urban soils, nutrient recycling, soil conservation and food security.<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place at the Library, in the Red Amphitheatre, starting at 8.30 a.m., with presentations and discussions of 5 minutes per project.<\/p>\n<p>World Soil Day will also be marked on 4-5 December by the Faculty of Horticulture and Business in Rural Development, in the Library Reading Room (3rd floor), in partnership with numerous academic institutions, non-profit organisations, professional initiatives and European communities focused on sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The international event &#8220;Multidialogue on Soil &#8211; Current Bio-inspiration for Future Generations&#8221; brings together university professors, sustainability experts, entrepreneurs, business representatives, specialists in agriculture, local gastronomy, communication, as well as guests from international communities.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of two days, young participants from Romania, Italy and Turkey will work in mixed teams to develop creative solutions in the agri-food sector, under the concept of Glocal Food: Thinking Global, Acting Local.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the event:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To promote awareness of the importance of soil for the food and ecological future of the next generations;<\/li>\n<li>Developing educational and entrepreneurial solutions inspired by nature (bio-inspiration);<\/li>\n<li>Creating a space for dialogue between students, teachers, specialists and representatives of the business community;<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging international collaboration between academic communities and European organisations in the SoilTribes ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"World Soil Day is celebrated annually on 5 December, and this year two of our faculties are organising important events dedicated to students, with the participation of teaching staff and special guests.","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2545,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2544","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-evenimente"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2544","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2544"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2544\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2546,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2544\/revisions\/2546"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2545"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2544"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2544"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.usamvcluj.ro\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2544"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
