The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca announces that it will host the first event organised in Romania as part of COST Action CA23106 \u201cAn Evolutionary View to Understanding Affective States across Species\u201d (AFFECT-EVO), an international initiative bringing together leading experts from various fields \u2013 ethology, biology, veterinary medicine, philosophy, psychology and computational sciences \u2013 alongside various representatives from society.<\/p>\n
This landmark scientific event, a two-day Training School entitled \u201cCo-learning through multiple perspectives: Communication about animal affects in educational contexts\u201d, will take place on 20\u201321 April 2026.<\/p>\n
Local organisation is coordinated by Prof. Dr Alina Rusu, from the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology, the Research Laboratory for Human-Animal Interaction and , together with Prof. Dr Rebecca Nordquist (Utrecht University) and Prof. Dr Helen Lewis (Swansea University).<\/p>\n
The programme includes lectures by experts, interactive sessions and practical activities, focusing on communicating complex or sensitive topics related to animals\u2019 emotional states in educational contexts. The contributions cover multiple perspectives \u2013 ethology, veterinary medicine, psychology, philosophy and animal-assisted education \u2013 reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the One Health and One Welfare approaches.<\/p>\n
