The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca, through its Faculty of Agriculture, invites you to the 19th edition of the Traditional Produce Festival. The event will take place on 4 May 2026, from 10.00 to 18.00, and is organised by fourth-year students on the Environmental Engineering programme as part of the \u2018Product Control and Certification\u2019 course, coordinated by Associate Professor Avram Fi\u021biu, PhD.<\/p>\n
Visitors will witness a celebration of flavour, heritage and Romanian traditions, as the students will showcase their folk costumes and traditional products from their home regions, including detailed recipe specifications, which will be judged by lecturers alongside specialists in gastronomy and folk traditions.<\/p>\n
The festival is already a tradition, bringing local recipes from Romanian cuisine back into the spotlight \u2013 recipes collected by the students themselves. In doing so, they acquire a range of skills: certification and inspection of organic farms and households; drafting specifications for traditional agricultural and food products; developing certification procedures for mountain products; local and ethical product certification; drawing up specifications for PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) and TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) products, through practical work carried out in the family\u2019s home town.<\/p>\n
