The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca has been actively involved in awarding social grants to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and groups, using European funds. By July 2026, the scheme had reached over 36,000 students across the country, providing them with the financial support needed to continue their studies.<\/p>\n
This support forms part of the project \u2018Interventions for Tertiary Education \u2013 Systemic Measures to Prevent and Reduce University Dropout Rates\u2019, code SMIS 322473<\/strong>, which aims to increase access to higher education and the number of young people remaining in the education system, and one of the interventions carried out under the project involves awarding social grants to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to support their access to, participation in, and retention within higher education.<\/p>\n Beneficiary students from the 44 higher education institutions across the country involved in the project have received full monthly scholarships. The amounts allocated to date have totalled nearly 157 million lei, which have been paid directly to students in the form of over 174,000 scholarships.<\/p>\n At the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, nearly 2,100 scholarships were awarded to 420 students between March and July. These students thus received full scholarships of 925 lei per month, totalling over 1.9 million lei.<\/p>\n In addition to the financial support, the students had access to 10 webinars<\/a>, held between 8 and 12 June, which attracted approximately 4,000 participants. The topics covered focused on the challenges of student life: effective learning techniques, stress and time management, understanding the rights and facilities offered by universities, as well as preparing to complete their studies.<\/p>\n
