Young people will be able to move freely between the stands and will have the opportunity to speak directly with researchers, ask questions and find out what work in a laboratory or on a research project is really like.

The event is aimed particularly at pupils in Years 10–12 at secondary schools in Cluj, but is open to anyone curious to discover the world of science.

Science quiz, artificial intelligence and challenges for participants

Between 5.30 pm and 8.00 pm, the programme continues with interactive activities and competitions for participants.

Science Quiz LIVE – ‘Can You Outsmart the Researchers?’ will challenge young people to test their knowledge and reaction times, whilst the activity ‘AI or Human? – Don’t Stop Thinking’ will confront them with one of the most topical issues of the moment: the relationship between artificial intelligence and human thought.

The programme will also include team sports activities, featuring coordination and agility challenges, and participants will have the chance to enter a prize draw.

Science continues under the open sky: the film ‘Tomorrowland’, screened on the USAMV Cluj-Napoca campus

From 8.00 pm, the atmosphere changes and the campus is transformed into an open-air cinema. Participants are invited to a screening of the film “Tomorrowland”, a story about curiosity, discovery, science and the desire to imagine a different future.

The screening, scheduled between 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm, will round off an evening in which science is presented in a relaxed, friendly manner that resonates with the younger generation. Groups or classes of pupils can register in advance via the platform www.renourish.ro.

By combining experiments, demonstrations, games, competitions, face-to-face meetings with researchers and an open-air film screening, the organisers aim to help participants discover that science is not confined to laboratories or textbooks, but is present all around us.

About RE-NOURISH

The event organised in Cluj-Napoca is part of the European RE-NOURISH project – Research and Education to Nourish Society – carried out as part of the European Researchers’ Night initiative.
