In this context, the conference serves as a dynamic scientific forum, fostering the exchange of views and innovative concepts, and promoting interdisciplinarity.<\/p>\n<p>The programme for this year\u2019s edition consists of a plenary session and eight thematic sessions featuring oral presentations and posters (<em>Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Food Science and Technology, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Economics and Rural Development, Animal Science and Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Geodesy, Forestry and Applied Exact Sciences<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The official opening ceremony and the plenary session will take place on Thursday, 24 September 2026, at 9.00 am, in <em>the \u2018Mihai<\/em> \u0218erban\u2019 Aula Magna at USAMV Cluj-Napoca. The event will be opened by the Rector of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Prof. Dr. Cornel C\u0103toi.<\/p>\n<p>The plenary session, scheduled for 09:15 to 11:30, will feature six international experts, whose topics reflect the major scientific areas of the university\u2019s six faculties. Among the distinguished guests are researchers from Italy, the USA, Slovenia, Poland, Germany and Spain, who will present papers of high practical relevance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maria Luisa Menandro (Italy) \u2013 <em>The role of wildlife in the epidemiology of tick-borne zoonotic pathogens: research in northern Italy;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Jake Mowrer (USA) \u2013 <em>Reduced irrigation of rice in Texas (USA) promotes phosphorus availability due to differences in soil redox conditions;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Luka Juvan\u010di\u010d (Slovenia) \u2013 <em>The role of applied research and innovation in life sciences in building bioeconomic systems resilient to multiple crises;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Irene Camerlink (Poland) \u2013 <em>Farm animal welfare in the context of climate crises: a \u2018One Welfare\u2019 perspective;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Ludger Wessjohann (Germany) \u2013 <em>How combining metabolomics with artificial intelligence supports the discovery of bioactive compounds and the assessment of food quality;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Jose Ramon Arevalo (Spain) \u2013 <em>Invasive plant species: a reassessment of their ecological role.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also on the first day, the plenary session will be followed by the ceremony to award the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of USAMV Cluj-Napoca to Academician Prof. Dr Dumitru MILITARU, Vice-President of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, a moment that symbolically marks the 25th anniversary of the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWith this 25th edition, the Silver Jubilee Edition, we are marking not only an anniversary but also the consolidation of a scientific forum that has developed steadily, year on year, alongside the Life Sciences research community. The fact that we are joined this year by over 1,400 authors from 18 countries confirms the conference\u2019s international relevance and the trust that the scientific community places in USAMV Cluj-Napoca. It is both an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and a commitment to the next quarter of a century of research, innovation and scientific collaboration<\/strong>,\u201d said the conference coordinator, Prof. Dr Vlad Mure\u0219an, Vice-Rector for Research, Development and Innovation at USAMV Cluj-Napoca.<\/p>\n<p>The conference proceedings will conclude on Friday, 25 September, at 2.00 pm, with an awards ceremony for the best posters.
