Transilvania Food Summit, with hundreds of agri-food specialists, at USAMV Cluj-Napoca

The campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca will host the third edition of an event with a major impact in the agri-food sector, the Transilvania Food Summit, 3rd edition, from 6 to 8 October 2023.
As in the previous two editions, the Transilvania Food Summit will bring together hundreds of specialists, and the importance of the meeting hosted by USAMV Cluj-Napoca is also highlighted by the academic nature of the debates, held by professors and researchers in the agri-food field from universities and research institutes in Europe, along with members of the Romanian Academy and the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.The list of participants also includes farmers and agricultural producer groups/associations, LAGs, manufacturers and retailers of agricultural and food industry machinery, food processors and associations, representatives of food retail companies, representatives of HoReCa associations, representatives of local and central, national and international authorities, executives from the financial-banking, IT, legal fields.
Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the Ministry of Investment and European Projects will also participate in the summit. Delegates from the European Commission (DG Agri and DG Regio), the European Parliament and COPA-COGECA, which represents the interests of farmers and cooperatives at European level, will also join them.
The proceedings will take place in the Aula Magna “Mihai Șerban” alongside a fair of local traditional products and local craftsmen on the plateau. USAMV Cluj-Napoca will also have stands with products from its own farms and stations, including wines from the Vinea Apoldia Maior Station, seasonal vegetables and fruits, together with ornamental plants and roses from the collection of the Horticultural Research Station. Ensembles and artists promoting Transylvanian cultural traditions will add to the atmosphere of the event, and details of the programme and list of speakers are available on the official website.
The official opening will take place on Friday, 6 October 2023, at 10.00 am, with the participation of the Rector of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi. Transilvania Food Summit is an annual event coordinated by Prof. Dr. Adrian Oros, vice-rector for the relationship with the socio-economic environment at our university.
