University Referedum 2023, regarding the election of the Rector of USAMV Cluj-Napoca

The Rector of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca will be appointed on the basis of general elections, by universal suffrage, according to the decision made by our academic community, in the 2023 Referendum. In favour of this decision, 91.22% of the participants in the 2023 University Referendum opted for a universal, direct, secret and equal vote, organised at USAMV Cluj-Napoca. The turnout for the 2023 Referendum was 71.81%.

The referendum was open to the full teaching and research staff and student representatives in the University Senate and Faculty Councils, 369 voters in total.
265 voters were present at the polls. A total of 262 votes were valid and three ballots were annulled. 239 voters voted for the election of the Rector for a new term of office by universal, direct and secret ballot by all the university’s teaching and research staff, as well as students in the University Senate and Faculty Councils.
The referendum for the election of the method of appointing the rector for a new term took place on Friday, 7 July 2023, and the results were validated in the Senate meeting of USAMV Cluj-Napoca on 21 July 2023.
