Educational Worskshop “Together for the transition from high school to university: challenges and perspectives” – 1st edition

The first edition of the event “Together for the transition from high school to university: challenges and perspectives” took place today at the Biodiversity Research Centre, with the participation of dozens of teachers and principals from high schools in Cluj-Napoca and other counties, organized by our university, together with the Cluj County School Inspectorate.

The hybrid event was organized by Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi – Rector, Prof. Dr. Ioana Pop – Didactic Pro-Rector of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, together with the Cluj County School Inspectorate, represented by Prof. Horea Corcheș. Prof. Mihaela Popescu – director of the Casaului Corpului Didactic Cluj – also spoke at the opening ceremony.

All our faculties were represented at the workshop, during which the educational offer for Admission 2024 was presented by Prof. Dr. Roxana Vidican – Agriculture; Prof. Dr. Nicodim Fiț – Veterinary Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cristian Coroian – Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies; Prof. Dr. Mugurel Jitea – Horticulture and Rural Development Affairs; Prof. Dr. Elena Mudura – Food Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deak Jutka – Forestry and Cadastre.

The President of the Senate of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Lecturer Dr. Mirela Fărăgău, the Director of the Tertiary College – Lecturer Dr. Alexandru Colișar, Prof. Dr. Ancuța Rotar – director of the Distance and Part-time Learning Department (IDFR), together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ioana Roman – director of the Department for the Training of Teaching Staff (DPPD).

Teachers and principals of high schools and colleges had interventions and proposals on how to collaborate as closely as possible in the successful transition of graduates to university. They invited the teachers and especially the students of USAMV Cluj-Napoca to visit high schools and share their experiences during college, so that high school students can have a more realistic picture before choosing the fields of study they want to pursue.

The meeting ended with fruitful discussions on future collaborations as well as the organisation of tfollowing meetings with different topics regarding the transition from high school to university. Congratulations and good luck to all!
