Five professors from USAMV Cluj-Napoca, among the most cited scientists in the world, according to the “Top World Ranking of Scientists 2%”

Five professors from the University of Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca have been included in the Top World Ranking of Scientists 2%, according to the ranking released by Stanford University (California, USA), together with Elsevier Publishing and the scientific research organisation SciTech Strategies.
There are 238 researchers from Romania in this top list. In total, the work of over 10 million scientists in 22 fields and 176 subfields was analysed from 1996 to 2022, providing a comprehensive database of the most important articles written worldwide.
The USAMV Cluj-Napoca representatives included in this ranking are in the Opera Omnia (For the whole career) and For the year 2022 categories. The two categories provide information on the impact of the most widely read scientists from around the world throughout their careers or for the year 2022.
For the first time for USAMV CN, a professor is included in the Opera Omnia category – Prof. Dan C. Vodnar, PhD, Vice-rector of Research, who ranks 64th out of 169 scientists at national level and 197,695th worldwide.
In the category For the year 2022 are part of the teaching staff from three faculties of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, as follows: the Faculty of Food Science and Technology – Prof. Dan Vodnar, PhD 20th position at national level and position 26.211 at world level, Prof. Zorița Diaconeasa, Ph.D 86th position at national level and position 114.636 worldwide; Faculty of Agriculture – Prof. Francisc Dulf, Ph.D – position 104 nationally and position 134.089 worldwide; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Prof. Andrei D. Mihalca, Ph.D – position 141 nationally and position 181.796 worldwide, Prof. Adela Pintea, Ph.D – position 162 nationally and position 230.388 worldwide.
The presence of five teachers in this category places the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca on the 15th place nationally.
