One gold and two silver medals in Spain for wines produced at Vinea Apoldia Maior

Our university was awarded, on February 28, 2024, with the gold medal in Spain, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, for the Sauvignon Blanc Aurum Terras 2023, respectively with the silver medals for Muscat Ottonel Aurum Terras 2023 and Sauvignon Blanc Aurum Terras 2022! All are produced at the Vinea Apoldia Maior winery and we thus congratulate our colleagues!

The first gold medal at international level was won by our university also at the Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition, in 2023, for the Sauvignon Blanc label of 2022.

The Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition ran from 15-25 February and the results were announced on 28 February 2024. According to the organisers, almost 3,000 wine labels from more than 20 countries were entered in the annual competition in Vitoria-Gasteisz.

Since 2020, USAMV Cluj-Napoca coordinates the Vinea Apoldia Maior Viticultural Station (Apoldu de Sus, Sibiu county), which is dedicated to university education and research. Professors and students are involved in the development of modern technologies for vine cultivation, wine production, superior valorisation of wine by-products and the development of agritourism.
