Students from USAMV Cluj-Napoca competed and were awarded for the landscaping of a public garden in the village of Copăceni. Work will start in May 2024 and is estimated to cost €70,000.

A unique competition, involving 21 students from USAMV Cluj-Napoca and their teachers, has designated the winning team at the Săndulești Town Hall (Cluj county), and the prizes offered were worth a total of 7,000 lei. Students from the Faculty of Horticulture and Business in Rural Development Business, specialising in Landscape Design, formed six teams and competed to identify the optimal solution for transforming an unused space in the village of Copăceni into one for recreation, socialisation and interaction.

The winning project for the landscaping of the “Copand” public garden went to the team of students Georgiana Daneliuc, Mara Buz and Răzvan Bordeianu from the 3rd and 4th years of the Landscape Design programme, and the prize was worth 2,500 lei. Prizes of 1,500 lei and 1,000 lei were also awarded to the teams ranked 2-3, as well as honourable mentions, with the awards ceremony taking place at the Institute for Advanced Horticultural Research of Transylvania (ICHAT).

Teams were awarded as follows:

First prize, 2,500 lei for team 5, made up of students Georgiana Daneliuc, Mara Buz and Răzvan Bordeianu;

Second prize, 1.500 lei for team 3 – Brad Dan and Radu Moldovan;

Third prize, 1,000 lei each for teams 1 and 2: Ioana Ghiurco, Beatrice Jamgossian, Andreea Dâmbean, Iulia Mora and Anton Boboș, respectively Alexandra Morariu and George Coman;

Mentions, 500 lei each for teams 4 and 6: Alexia Perșa, Darius Sîngeorzan, Paula Solonari and David Maroșan, respectively Carmina Chiorean, Iulia Chita, Dinu Lazăr, Gabriela Agrijan and Daiana Ficior.
