The BioArt Circle of USAMV Cluj-Napoca and UAD Cluj-Napoca invite you to the Rudis cellulae ceramics exhibition, 12-26 March

This year, the Cluj-Napoca BioArt Circle (USAMV Cluj-Napoca and UAD Cluj-Napoca) proposes a creative, bold and colourful project: the Rudis cellulae ceramics exhibition. From 12-26 March 2024, at the Institute for Advanced Horticultural Research of Transylvania (4th floor), the exhibits can be visited free of charge, and the opening will take place on Tuesday, 12 March 2024, from 16.00.

The work of students from the Department of Ceramics, Glass and Metal at UAD reflects the combination of horticultural sciences and art and invites to meditation.

“The Rudis cellulae ceramics exhibition will be the first of three similar events scheduled this year. The exhibits propose a conceptual model for botanical-ceramic relationships. This conceptual contribution approaches the theme of context from the perspective of two broad categories and/or disciplines: plants and ceramic objects. It is not the context of one of these categories per se that is the main focus, but rather the spatial relationship between these categories, with the approach to spatial plant morphologies being less prone to divergent interpretations. Plants are a kind of autobiography. In spring, at the end of the day, we should smell of clay”, explained Prof. Corina Cătană, from the Research Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation (USAMV Cluj-Napoca).

We look forward to welcoming you to the Rudis cellulae ceramics exhibition, available for viewing from 9.00 – 16.00!

Organisers: the Research Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation – Faculty of Horticulture and Rural Development and the Department of Ceramics, Glass and Metal (UAD), and coordinators are Prof. Dr. Corina Cătană (USAMV), Prof. Dr. Marius Silviu Georgescu and Lect. Dr. Cristina Metea (UAD).
