Congratulations to the Faculty of Horticulture and Rural Development Affairs for “Rain Garden”, awarded the Jury Prize in the Themed Gardens competition at the West Side Flower Fest!

The work “Rain Garden” was conceived and designed by one of the teams from our faculty, formed by students Georgiana Daneliuc, Iulia Hărșan and Cristiana Danci, under the coordination of the Lecturer Dr. Hoble Adela and Associate professor Dr. Jucan Denisa.

Another fascinating work – “The Floating Garden” – received a mention from the jury, and the team from our faculty consisted of students Paula Solonari, Naty Cosma, Răzvan Bordeianu, Dinu Lazăr, coordinated by Lecturer Dr. Sonia Bodea and Lecturer Dr. Răzvan Vasiu.

The third work proposed by our university – “Garden without irrigation” was carried out by students Ciprian Fărcaș, Oana Hedeș, Daria Drăguș, under the coordination of the Lecturer Dr. Valentin Dan.

The West Side Flower Fest, 2nd edition, was attended by 65 students and 17 coordinating professors, divided into 18 teams, representing universities from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Târgu-Mureș and Timișoara. For five days they created and presented their work in Drumul Taberei Park, visited by thousands of landscaping enthusiasts. The theme of the competition was “Innovations in landscaping for the wise use of water”.

Thanks to the organizer, the City Hall of Sector 5 Bucharest for the invitation, congratulations to all participants and applause for the students and teachers who represented our university with such great passion!
