Five student teams, from USAMV Cluj-Napoca and USV Iasi, in the Digital AgriChallenge final, hosted on April 26, 2024 by the Biodiversity Research Centre

The national competition for students – Digital AgriChallenge has come to an end, and after the selection stage, the judging for the grand prize of 2,500 euros will take place on Friday, 26 April, at 2.30 pm, at the Research Centre for Biodiversity at USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
Five teams made up only of students qualified for the final – three of them from USAMV Cluj-Napoca, with members from the Faculties of Agriculture; Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies; Horticulture and Rural Development Business, and the other two from the University of Life Sciences “Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Iasi.
The first edition of the national Digital AgriChallenge competition was launched this year by USAMV Cluj-Napoca, in partnership with AgroVIR – a provider of specialised farm management software. The aim of the Digital AgriChallenge programme is to facilitate networking and enable students to acquire practical and competitive skills, which, together with theoretical education, will turn into valuable and applicable training.
In the first edition of the competition in Romania, 33 teams, or about 120 students, entered, testing both their agricultural and management knowledge and digital skills using AgroVIR farm management software. Teams of 3-4 members made management decisions and solved problems encountered in farm life in a simulated online environment.
In the 26 April 2024 final, a prestigious jury will decide the winning team, which will be awarded the grand prize of €2,500.
