Third prize at Ecotrophelia 2024 for B12 Fusion, a project by students from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology

Our University was represented, between 12-14 June, at the national stage of the International Student Creative Competition Ecotrophelia Romania 2024, organized by the University of Life Sciences “Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Iasi, by a team from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.
The FSTA team, coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Adrian Martău, presented only one project, which was awarded the 3rd prize: B12 Fusion – a pastry roll enriched with vitamin B12 from a biotechnological source (fermentation).

Ten student teams and 22 coordinating professors from six universities, including USAMV Cluj-Napoca, participated in Ecotrophelia Romania 2024.
Ecotrophelia is a European competition for students promoting innovation in food with a focus on sustainability and eco-innovation. The competition was initiated in France in 2000 by the National Federation of Food Industries (ANIA), and has since expanded to the European level and is recognised as a benchmark competition for young innovators in the food industry.
