USAMV Cluj-Napoca, partner in signing an agreement Carfil SA (subsidiary of Romarm SA) – Periscope Aviation!

Our University was represented, today, at Romaero, which is hosting Black Sea Defense and Aerospace #BSDA2024, the largest regional exhibition dedicated to defense and security. Prof. Dr. Sorin Vâtcă – vice-rector for Social and Student Activities, together with Prof. Dr. Tudor Sălăgean – dean Faculty of Forestry and Cadastre, signed on behalf of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, as a partner, within the strategic industrial cooperation agreement with the American manufacturer of military and civil drones Periscope Aviation – Carfil SA (Romarm).

“The protocol signed today provides for the development of domestic drone production for the agricultural sector, the implementation of the strategic project <First Drone>, the updating of the national legislative framework in terms of production, homologation, standardization, civil operation, in line with the requirements and evolution of the national, regional and international market. We also want to accelerate research-development-innovation projects in the field of UAV/UGV, aimed at agriculture and the construction of the agri-food digital ecosystem, through the active involvement of research teams from academia and the private sector”, said Prof. Tudor Sălăgean.

The signing ceremony was attended by several personalities, including the US Ambassador, ES Kathleen Kavalec, and the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Ștefan Radu-Oprea.

Carfil SA is a subsidiary of the national company Romarm SA, and Periscope Aviation is the drone division of Chartis Federal, the latest investment of the American company, renowned for its innovation in high-performance tactical UAV systems.

#BSDA2024 is the largest regional exhibition dedicated to defence and security, now in its 9th edition, bringing together 400 global manufacturers of military equipment and technology and over 300 high-level foreign delegates.
