Contracts worth over 26.5 million lei for the modernization of the USAMV Cluj-Napoca infrastructure, signed with the Ministry of Education. Most of the funding is non-reimbursable, through PNRR

We are pleased to announce that our university has signed two contracts for the modernization of the educational infrastructure with the Ministry of Education, through Minister Ligia Deca. They are worth over 26.5 million lei, with mainly non-reimbursable funding, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), respectively with a contribution from the university budget of USAMV Cluj-Napoca.

At the contract signing ceremony, which took place in the Glass Hall of the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, our university was represented by Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi and Prof. Dr. Ioana Delia Pop.

In the presence of the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, the rectors and representatives of several universities from Cluj-Napoca, Alba-Iulia, Sibiu, Târgu Mureș and Oradea signed contracts for over 51 million euro in funding through the PNRR at university level. Five contracts were signed for construction and eight contracts for the modernization of university infrastructure (construction and modernization of dormitories, canteens and recreational facilities for students).

Statement by Ligia Deca, Minister of Education:

“256 million lei through the first 13 projects to modernize university infrastructure for students! The 256 million lei are earmarked for the construction or renovation of dormitories, canteens and recreational facilities for students. We are modernizing universities for a fair academic area!

Increasing participation in university studies and tackling student dropout have been some of the main priorities during my term as Minister. These newly-built or modernized places will increase the capacity of student dormitories and canteens. Together with the recreational spaces built, we will provide better conditions for more students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are the main beneficiaries of these investments.

Congratulations and good luck in implementing your projects!
