Our University, together with the National Research and Development Institute for Food Bioresources (IBA Bucharest), UMF “Carol Davila” Bucharest, Institute of Hygiene and Veterinary Public Health Bucharest and USAMV Bucharest (Faculty of Biotechnologies), organizes on Thursday, 18 July 2024, the first workshop within the ADER 16.1.2 Research on the development of a certification scheme on the food chain according to the ONE HEALTH concept, workshop entitled “Good practices in animal husbandry, nutrition, animal health by addressing the ONE HEALTH concept”.
With a budget of 1.6 million lei and spread over a period of three years (2023-2026), the project’s main objective is to promote the One Health concept in Romanian society through two important promotion channels:
– A certification scheme for food products whose production and processing fall within this concept;
– A collaborative platform for information and interaction, supporting multi- and trans-disciplinarity, i.e. contributing to building a food system that puts the health of people, animals and ecosystems first.
The meeting on July 18 aims to identify the needs of stakeholders interested in the One Health concept and is part of a series of events dedicated to the regional promotion of this vision in Romania.
