#Awareness Week, at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, with a show, exhibition and workshops dedicated to students, on the prevention of street harassment, domestic violence and substance abuse

The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca is hosting, for the first time, between 4-8 November 2024, the “Awareness Week”, with several events dedicated to students and important issues in society: street harassment, domestic violence and substance abuse.
This first edition on our campus is organised by the Department for Teacher Training (DPPD), the Centre for Lifelong Learning and the Centre for Inclusion for People with Disabilities, in partnership with the Filia Centre and Preventis Association.
The event targets students and aims to create a space for open and informative dialogue on topical and highly relevant issues: street harassment, domestic violence and substance abuse. These issues can directly affect the safety, mental and physical health and emotional well-being of students.
“We believe that the issues addressed in different forms – exhibition, workshops and performance – are appropriate to a non-formal education process through which knowledge and experiences remain grafted in the mind and soul throughout life. The #AwarenessWeek is organised for the first time at our university and we expect students from all our faculties to participate in the largest possible number at all thesse events. Their aim is to raise awareness, dialogue and offer concrete solutions for the prevention and management of situations of street harassment, domestic violence and substance use”, explained Lect. dr. Mirela Fărăgău, who is part of the organising team.

* Exhibition of t-shirts with messages from victims of domestic violence “Some laundry is washed in public” – Filia Centre Bucharest, 4-8 November, lobby of the Institute of Life Sciences;
