Outstanding achievements of the USAMV Cluj-Napoca community

The beginning of December brought great news for our entire university community!

On the same day, 10 December 2024, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine obtained the official accreditation of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) for the next 7 years, and at the Ministry of Education was signed by the Minister Ligia Deca and Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi – Rector, the contract for funding through the PNRR, won by USAMV Cluj-Napoca, along with other universities, for the training of teachers in agricultural high schools.

“Over half a million euro for teacher training in agricultural high schools in the country! We have signed, at the Ministry of Education, the PNRR funding contracts won by the universities that will provide teacher training in agricultural high schools. This programme represents a major step in modernising agricultural education in Romania, adapting it to the requirements of new technologies.

The training programme will address key topics such as digitisation and artificial intelligence in agriculture, sustainable agricultural technologies, circular economy, reducing pollution in agriculture, biodiversity conservation, modern biotechnologies and farm-friendly financial management. These topics cover both efficiency and sustainability and the integration of new technologies in agriculture. I wish  success to all the winners in implementing their projects”, is the statement of the Minister of Education, Mrs Ligia Deca.

Another remarkable achievement for our university is the fact that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has obtained the official European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) accreditation for the next 7 years, a recognition offered by the prestigious organisation The European Committee of Veterinary Education – ECOVE!

This success is the fruit of hard work, dedication and collective effort of the whole team. Every teacher, researcher, student and administrative staff member has played a key role in this success!

Congratulations to all our colleagues at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for this remarkable achievement, which inspires further performance, innovation and passion for education and science!

Congratulations and good luck to the entire USAMV Cluj-Napoca community!

Film workshop on the challenges and realisation of research work at USAMV Cluj-Napoca

Our University is a partner in a very interesting project, organised with the Persona Association, with the support of SciFilmIt: the film workshop “Science communication through stories, film and animation”.

Researchers from our university will be involved and will collaborate with students from the Babeș-Bolyai University – Faculty of Theatre and Film, respectively students from the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima”, to make four short films about the challenges and achievements of research work at USAMV Cluj-Napoca.

The filmmaking workshops are hosted on our campus from 16-18 December, and the creative work focuses on screenplays in the fields of Sustainability and Perspectives in Life Sciences, One-Health, Biodiversity, etc.

The main objectives of the film workshop are:

For researchers – Learning about structuring scientific information to create stories in narrative sequences, to express ideas to the general public through frame-by-frame animation and film;

For the public – Presentation of the four 3-5 minute short films on themes chosen by the participants.

The first meeting of the project took place on 16 December, so we wish the participating teams and the organisers all the best of luck and look forward to seeing the films!
