USAMV Cluj-Napoca participates in the world exhibition SIAL Paris 2024 with its own products: wines, organic dairy products and meat products

From 19-23 October, our university is represented at the 60th anniversary edition of the SIAL Paris 2024 world exhibition, dedicated to the international food and beverage industry.

The USAMV Cluj-Napoca stand is located in the Romania pavilion (Hall 6), and visitors can enjoy tasting the flavoured wines produced in 2022 and 2023 at the Vinea Apoldia Maior Vineyard: Italian Riesling, Amlas, Madrigal, Semper (2022), together with Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer Rose and Pinot Gris Rose (2023). Also on show, through Gourmeticus Academicum, are the tasty organic dairy products from the Cojocna Farm – burduf cheese, cow’s telemea and traditional curd cheese, as well as meat dishes – mutton specialities macerated in red wine, peasant cutlet, Gourmeticus sausages, smoked pressed pork, etc.

SIAL Paris is a major event for the international food and beverage industry, considered the central hub for trends and innovations. This international trade fair attracts high-profile participants, including professionals in food processing, production management, factory design, hygiene and waste processing, as well as food manufacturers, distributors, importers, traders and HoReCa specialists, according to organisers.

In the Romanian pavilion, alongside our university stall, you will find companies presenting a variety of products, including meat and meat products, bakery products, pastries, dairy products, confectionery, canned fruit and vegetables, organic products, natural juices and beer.

The main theme of the 2024 anniversary edition is ‘sustainability, innovation and emerging trends in the food industry, including alternative proteins and innovative food technologies’, and the exhibition slogan is ‘Own the Change’, which urges participants to embrace the changes in the industry and respond to global challenges.

SIAL is a major international trade fair, which has developed 21 exhibition sectors in 2024, and the event’s agenda also includes numerous related activities, including SIAL Innovation, with awards in 15 categories, SIAL Talks, with conferences and debates on industry challenges and trends, or Future Lab, dedicated to innovative food, with the distinct Next Food Generation, #VR Lab and Alternative Food Forum meetings.
