President of the Senate of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Prof. dr. Dan C. Vodnar, was elected Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy

The General Assembly of the Romanian Academy, meeting in session on February 12, 2025, decided, by secret ballot, the election as corresponding member of the Romanian Academy of Prof. dr. Dan C. Vodnar, President of the Senate of our University and Professor of Molecular Gastronomy and Food Biotechnologies at the Faculty of Food Science and Technology!

This achievement is the result of the sustained effort of an extraordinary team of researchers, the passion of students and the guidance of the mentors who have been by my side along the way. I am grateful to all those who have contributed to this journey and I look to the future with enthusiasm, determined to continue with even more dedication and involvement”, is the message of the President of the Senate of USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
With a 16-year career in research and innovation, Prof. dr. Dan C. Vodnar is ranked among the top 2% most cited scientists in the world in the field of Food Science, according to the Top World Ranking of Scientists by Stanford University, and also in the top 0.05% of the world’s top scientists in the fields of Agriculture and Natural Resources, by ScholarGPS.
Also in 2022, the team led by Prof. dr. Dan C. Vodnar launched on the market the food supplement Echibiotic, an active symbiotic complex of six probiotic strains designed to restore the intestinal flora, developed and produced at USAMV Cluj-Napoca following 10 years of research.
