About the initiators of this innovative project
The SciFilmIt organization in Geneva (https://scifilmit.com/) aims to communicate science through a creative link between science, science communication and the general public. To this end, it organizes courses, workshops, competitions and events where participants from scientific fields learn to make short films that explain scientific concepts or present research projects to the general public.
Persona Association in Cluj-Napoca focuses on the educational, social and cognitive roles of art. The association collaborates with various local, national and international institutions and organizations in artistic (theatre and cinema), social (public interest issues such as addictions, public health), medical (health education, primary and secondary prevention) and charitable projects. Persona Association is the producer and organizer of the ClujShorts International Short Film Festival.
The collaboration of the two organizations was carried out by the artificial intelligence researcher Vivi Năstase, from the University of Geneva / Idiap Institute (Martigny, Switzerland) and member of SciFilmIt, and by the film director Rareș H. Stoica, Vice-President of the Persona Association in Cluj-Napoca.
The cinematography workshop “Science communication through stories, films and animation” was coordinated at USAMV Cluj-Napoca by the Vice-rector of Research, Prof. dr. Vlad Mureșan. Congratulations and good luck in all future projects!
