Festival of Traditional Products, on May 14, at the USAMV Cluj-Napoca, with a parade of folk costumes, juries and tastings of traditional goodies, with recipes collected by students from 12 counties

The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca invites you, through the Faculty of Agriculture, to the 18th edition of the Traditional Product Festival, supported by the students of the fourth year of Environmental Engineering, within the course of Product Control and Certification, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Avram Fițiu
The event will take place on May 14, 2025, between 10.00 – 18.00, at the Biodiversity Research Center on campus, and visitors will witness a celebration of Romanian taste, memory and traditions.
The students will present their folk costumes, as well as traditional products from their native places, including recipe specifications, which will be judged by teachers, together with specialists in gastronomy and folk traditions.
Traditional recipes from the counties of Mureș, Satu Mare, Bistrița-Năsăud, Sălaj, Maramureș, Alba, Sibiu, Cluj, Harghita, Suceava, Neamț, Argeș, will be presented for tasting and jury, among which we mention celtă șvăbească, sweet urdoici, Maramureș cous cous, sweet corn with dried prunes, sheep’s milk flour, cici boiled in bean juice, aranygaluska, stuffed wedding hen, Bilbor alivencă, Tihău zacuscă, sfinți (Moldovan saints), pork chișcă with pod, pork in cir, Topoloveni plum magiun.
The event will be opened at 10.00 a.m. by the USAMV Cluj-Napoca management, after which the members of the jury will taste and evaluate the products presented by the students, and then the specifications of the traditional recipes will be presented. As in every edition, the general public is also expected at the festival, which will have access to tastings and discussions with the participants after 12.00, when the jury will conclude.
