“Honeybees and other pollinators”, organized by EU CAP Network, with USAMV Cluj-Napoca as partner, through the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Biotechnologies

Our University is hosting, on May 7-8, 2025, through the Discipline of Beekeeping and Sericulture Production Technology of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies, the meeting aimed at innovation and experience exchange in beekeeping and pollinator species, entitled “Honeybees and other pollinators”.
The official organizer of the meeting is the EU CAP NETWORK, a Common Agricultural Policies (CAP) network through which organizations, administrations, researchers and practitioners can exchange knowledge and information on agriculture and rural policies, under the patronage and management of the European Commission.
Around 30 specialists in beekeeping and other pollinator species are expected to attend the event, and will be supported by representatives of the European Commission (DG AGRI and EIP-AGRI Support Facility). The main aim of the meeting is to create connections for future research projects and to identify new opportunities and avenues for collaboration in such an important field for mankind.
Starting from the expertise that the Discipline of Apiculture and Sericulture Production Technology has in the field, through the involvement, realization and success of two large-scale projects, the results of the B-GOOD Project (HORIZON Project, funded by the European Union) will be presented during this event. The presentation will be given by Prof. Dr. Daniel Dezmirean, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Biotechnologies and also responsible for the implementation of the project at USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
Regarding the “Bee Smart, Bee Healthy” project, in which USAMV CN was involved as a partner, a visit will be organized to the Living Lab and the university’s beehive, where the results of this project will be presented.
“The event that we are hosting on May 7, in the Red Amphitheater, and on May 8, at the Biodiversity Research Center, will make an important contribution in connecting specialists and practitioners in the field of beekeeping and natural pollination, and the meeting with representatives of organizations under the patronage of the European Union will create new bridges between agricultural operators and decision makers, on the funding of new research projects”, is the message sent by Prof. Dr. Daniel Dezmirean.
