Prof. univ. habil. dr. Dan C. Vodnar, awarded Doctor Honoris Causa of the “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad

The “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad conferred, on May 13, 2025, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Dan Cristian Vodnar, a prominent personality of the Romanian and international academic and scientific environment.
Prof. univ. dr. habil. Dan Cristian Vodnar – President of the Senate of USAMV Cluj-Napoca and Professor of Molecular Gastronomy and Food Biotechnologies at the Faculty of Food Science and Technology is included annually in the world ranking of the top 2% of food scientists, being a respected mentor and renowned researcher.
The awarding ceremony took place in the festive hall of UAV, in the presence of over 300 participants – teachers, researchers, students, academic colleagues from Arad, Cluj-Napoca and other university centers. The event celebrated not only Prof. Vodnar’s professional achievements, but also his exceptional contribution to the promotion of science in the public space.
Recognized for his ability to make science accessible to the general public, Prof. Vodnar is the author of “Science with salt and pepper. The chemistry you don’t learn at school” and has numerous media appearances explaining scientific phenomena in clear and accessible language.
The ceremony on May 13, 2025 was attended by members of the academic community and the USAMV Cluj-Napoca management, together with the family of Prof. dr. Dan C. Vodnar. Congratulations and good luck in your career!
