Student Sports Cup – a festival of movement, competition and friendship, organized by LSSV!

On 14-17 April, the League of Life Sciences Students Association (LSSV) enthusiastically organized the VIII edition of the Sports Cup for the students of our university.

The event, held on campus, was mainly aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, strengthening relationships between students, as well as cultivating team spirit and fair play. Already a long-awaited tradition in student life, this year’s event was once again notable for its sporting diversity and the large number of participants.

It was organized by nearly 100 student volunteers and coordinators, who joined more than 300 students and teachers participating in 10 sports disciplines.

The football competition was spectacular, with 14 teams battling it out over four days in a tight battle for the title of champions. After matches full of suspense and determination, the Golden Warriors took the trophy, demonstrating cohesion, strategy and talent.

Among the less common but highly appreciated sports was HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) – a first for the Sports Cup. This discipline recreates medieval sword-fighting in a sporting setting and drew attention both for its spectacular and authentic experience for participants.

Our campus was utterly joyful and resounded with the chants of the cheering crowd, present, along with the cheerleaders, at the HEMA, cross country, soccer, basketball, volleyball, table and field tennis, foot tennis, arm wrestling and chess competitions.

Congratulations to the participating students, organizers and teachers involved in the 2025 Sports Cup, which was, once again, a celebration of friendship, passion for sport and student community!
