International conference “Life Sciences for Sustainable Development” at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, with the participation of 400 specialists from 16 countries, gathered for an exchange of ideas and scientific innovations
The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca is organising, between 25 and 27 September 2025, the 24th edition of the International Conference “Life Sciences for Sustainable Development”, a landmark event for scientific research in the field of Life Sciences.
With the participation of 400 specialists from Romania and 15 other countries, the conference is a dynamic scientific forum, promoting the exchange of opinions, innovative concepts and interdisciplinarity.
The programme includes a plenary session and eight thematic sessions dedicated to areas such as: Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Food Science and Technology, Horticulture and Landscaping, Economics and Rural Development, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Geodesy, Forestry and Applied Exact Sciences. Scientific communications will be presented in the form of oral papers and posters.
Among the guests of the plenary session are prestigious researchers from Spain, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Montenegro, who will address current topics such as:
- Sustainable microbial safety in the food chain – Pablo Fernandez Escamez (Spain)
- Agricultural biotechnology and improvement for food security from the perspective of animal biotechnology – Elen Gócza (Hungary)
- Monitoring and surveillance of wildlife health in Northern Italy: experiences and future priorities – Rudi Cassini (Italy)
- Current trends in the encapsulation and digestion of bioactive compounds – António Vicente (Portugal)
- Mutualistic interactions: the role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in plant health – Claudia Ruta (Italy)
- Innovative models for assessing erosion and water runoff in Brazil, Morocco, Montenegro, Serbia, Nepal and Iran – Velibor Spalevic (Montenegro)
The event will be attended by students and teaching staff from the six faculties of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, as well as guests from Algeria, Bulgaria, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Gambia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia and Spain.
