Introductory and arbitration courses in Working Equitation, with free access for USAMV Cluj-Napoca students
On 21-22 June 2025, our university will host a first-of-its-kind event in Romania in terms of organisation with a higher education institution: the introductory and arbitration course in Working Equitation, a relatively new equestrian discipline that is also very successful in our country!
Students from all our faculties, especially those from Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science and Biotechnology, are invited by the organisers to take advantage of this opportunity, with free access to the two-day course, based on registration.
The refereeing course is taught by Cláudia Elsner Matos (Portugal), who is visiting our country for the first time. She is an international *** referee and technical delegate, accredited by the World Association for Working Equitation (WAWE), an FEI referee for young horses and a level 2 referee in dressage.
Our students should also know that the discipline of Working Equitation was created with the aim of improving equestrian techniques for working with horses, with an emphasis on developing and maintaining equestrian skills related to herding and sorting cattle. It is an equestrian activity practised in many countries around the world, and it is becoming very popular in Romania, so they will have the opportunity to better understand what it entails and, perhaps, to become officials in this sport.
The event is being organised for the first time with a Romanian university, and the partners are AVER – the Romanian Equine Veterinary Association, Working Equitation in Romania, the Romanian Equestrian Federation and the World Association for Working Equitation (WAWE).
