Spay Day 2025 – Free dog and cat sterilisation marathon on 11 July at the veterinary clinics of USAMV Cluj-Napoca. Over 85 graduate students are participating.
The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca, through its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, is organising the annual Spay Day event – a marathon of free sterilisation for dogs and cats, on 11 July 2025.
Starting at 8:30 a.m., teaching staff and graduates from 2025 will take care of the cases registered for sterilisation at the faculty’s clinics. The annual community campaign run by USAMV Cluj-Napoca in this format since 2018 is primarily intended for pet owners with limited financial means, but also for stray animals.
Pet owners who register are asked not to feed their cats and dogs for at least 12 hours before their sterilisation appointment.
Approximately 85 graduates of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from the three teaching lines (Romanian, English and French) will be involved in the Sterilisation Marathon. They will be joined by teaching staff, veterinarians and veterinary technicians from all specialities, from reception to the operating room.
