On 10 December 2025, the Romanian Academy will award prizes for the most valuable scientific works of 2023. Members of the academic community of USAMV Cluj-Napoca will be awarded prizes in the Agricultural and Forestry Sciences Section.

On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, the Romanian Academy will award prizes for the most valuable scientific and artistic creations of 2023, and USAMV Cluj-Napoca is honoured to announce that among the winners are members of our academic community, from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology, the Faculty of Horticulture and Rural Development Business, and the Faculty of Forestry and Cadastre.

According to the Romanian Academy, the award-winning works to which representatives of our university contributed are part of Scientific Section IX – Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, as follows:

  1. The “Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Award – agriculture, economics, botany

Work: Consequences of Recent Crises on FLW Consumer Behaviour: A Nationwide Representative Research – The Case of Romania

Authors: Cristina-Bianca Pocol, Antonio Amuza, Maria-Georgeta Moldovan, Liana-Maria Stanca, Dan-Cristian Dabija.

  1. The Traian Săvulescu Award – biology, phytopathology, biotechnology, food science

Paper: Current Status of the Bioactive Properties of Royal Jelly: A Comprehensive Review with a Focus on Its Anticancer, Anti-Inflammatory, and Antioxidant Effects

  1. The “Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești” Award – agriculture, soil science, land improvement, horticulture, animal husbandry

Paper: Quantitative Traits of Interest in Apple Breeding and Their Implications for Selection

The awards are granted, according to the regulations, within the 14 scientific sections of the Romanian Academy, namely: literature and philology, history, mathematics, physics, chemistry, technical sciences, geonomic sciences, information technology, biology, medicine, agronomy, forestry, economic and legal sciences, sociology, psychology, philosophy, theology, fine arts, theatre and music.
