USAMV Cluj-Napoca became a founding member of the Association of Life Sciences Universities for Central and Eastern Europe – CASEE
The founding ceremony of the Life Sciences Universities for Central and Eastern Europe Association – CASEE brought together, on 20 November 2025, in Bucharest, representatives of ten prestigious universities in the region, who met to sign the statute and mark the beginning of a strengthened collaboration in the field of education, research and innovation in the life sciences.
USAMV Cluj-Napoca was represented at the ceremony by Prof. Dr. Vlad Mureșan – Vice-Rector for Research.
The ten founding members of the Central and Eastern European Life Sciences Universities Association (CASEE) are:
– Agricultural University of Tirana;
– University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU);
– University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences;
– Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek – Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek;
– Technical University of Moldova;
– Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Life Sciences in Iași;
– University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca;
– King Michael I University of Life Sciences in Timișoara;
– University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest;
– University of Novi Sad – Faculty of Agriculture.
The new association aims to strengthen collaboration between life sciences universities in Central and Eastern Europe, promote academic excellence, support joint research initiatives and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
The establishment of the Association of Life Sciences Universities for Central and Eastern Europe – CASEE marks an important step in strengthening regional academic cooperation and advancing knowledge in agriculture, biotechnology, environmental sciences and related fields.
