USAMV Cluj-Napoca in the Times Higher Education (THE) – World University Rankings 2026

Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026 was published on Thursday, 9 October 2025, and the global trust placed in the world’s best universities by students, academics, governments and industry experts was expressed in a list including 2,191 institutions from 115 countries and territories.

Our university ranks 1,201-1,500 in the recently published ranking, and in the subject rankings, USAMV Cluj-Napoca remains in 601-800 in the Life Sciences subject area.

The scores obtained by our university in 2026 in the five areas evaluated are:

Teaching (learning environment) = 19.7 (↑);
Research environment (volume, income and reputation) = 10 (↑);
Research quality (citation impact, research quality, excellence and research influence) = 52.3 (↓);
Impact on industry (income, patents) = 22 (–);
International outlook (staff, students, research) = 37.5 (↓).

In total, 22 universities from Romania appear in the ranking, but only seven – including USAMV Cluj-Napoca – were included in the top 1,500 places. In addition, eight universities that reported data but were not included in the ranking are also mentioned.
