“Plant Fascination Day”, celebrated at USAMV Cluj-Napoca on 17 May 2026

The eighth international edition of “Plant Fascination Day” (FoPD 2024) was launched by researchers from around the world under the auspices of the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO), and at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, which is also the EPSO Coordinator for Romania, the event will take place on 17 May 2026.

“The Fascination of Plants Day” is celebrated annually on 18 May across the globe, supported by a series of events in over 60 countries, taking place in public spaces, universities, botanical gardens, research institutes, theatres, public squares and parks, with the aim of informing and raising public awareness about the respect and admiration due to the plant world. In Romania, events dedicated to ‘World Plant Fascination Day’ will take place at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, the ‘Alexandru Borza’ Botanical Garden in Cluj-Napoca, the National University of Science and Technology ‘Politehnica’ Bucharest, the Pitești University Centre, and at SCDL Buzău.
