The Cluj Horticulture Days, at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, from 15 to 17 May 2026, will feature themed workshops, drone demonstrations, floral arrangements, recreational activities and sales of flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and fruit bushes

The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca is hosting the annual Cluj Horticulture Days – 5th edition – from 15 to 17 May 2026, organised by the Faculty of Horticulture and Rural Development.

For three days, from 10.00 to 19.00, the public will have free access to explore an academic and interactive programme dedicated to horticulture, landscaping and entrepreneurship in these fields. The event brings together specialists, graduates, enthusiasts and visitors of all ages, offering themed workshops, practical demonstrations with drones and horticultural equipment, recreational activities and an extensive exhibition and sale of horticultural and handcrafted products – ranging from flowers and ornamental or aromatic plants to vegetable seedlings, fruit trees and shrubs, ornamental trees and shrubs, pots, equipment and machinery.

The programme focuses on direct dialogue with faculty experts and guests from the professional sector, who will lead workshops and demonstrations tailored to a diverse audience. Participants will be able to discover creative activities, such as the Ikebana technique, the art of floral arrangement or decorating objects using the napkin technique, as well as innovative applications, such as the use of drones in horticulture, how to care for fruit trees and ornamental plants, in vitro plant propagation and funding opportunities.

The educational and recreational programme includes activities for children – a guided tour of the campus, craft workshops, henna tattoos, face painting and creative games,  whilst adult visitors are invited to wine and local produce tastings, presentations on best practices in gardening, fruit freeze-drying, vertical farming – aeroponics, business funding opportunities, and the acclimatisation of exotic species in fruit growing, etc.

The Cluj Horticulture Days also represent an important milestone for the faculty’s students, who are actively involved in the organisation as volunteers. They will have the opportunity to interact directly with exhibitors, gain practical experience in managing a large-scale event, and engage in dialogue with successful university alumni, who return to campus as participants. At the same time, the event provides them with a favourable setting to connect with the Cluj community and to enjoy a valuable professional and social experience.
