The “Connecting Nature” regional conference, organised by the Faculty of Forestry and Cadastre, on 27–28 May 2026, at ICHAT
The regional conference “Connecting Nature”, organised by the Faculty of Forestry and Cadastre in partnership with ForestConnect, will take place on 27–28 May 2026 at our university.
The project’s closing event provides a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, protected area managers and authorities from the Balkan-Carpathian-Dinaric region, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and practical solutions to strengthen forest connectivity in the context of current climate change.
What sets ForestConnect apart is its unique trans-regional approach, which transcends traditional borders to foster cross-border coherence in adaptive management planning.
During the event, which will also take place online, innovative solutions will be presented, such as climate-adapted habitat modelling, eco-connectivity strategies based on large predators as umbrella species, and the modernisation of the biodiversity database (the CCIBIS system), which is seen as a shared data hub.
Congratulations and best of luck!
